Introduction: This training will provide you the opportunity to fully understand USAID applicable rules and regulation related to procurement management. It will also help you understand the basic fundamentals of the procurement cycle and how each phase contributes to the effective program/project management, enabling you to do your job better

  • What are the key Rules and regulations of USAID related to Procurement management?
  • Identify when to apply a range of purchasing tools and techniques
  • Understand the need for the involvement of procurement in specification development.
  • Undertake supplier appraisal, develop a post tender appraisal and develop tender/RFQ templates
  • Know the difference between procurement of Goods and Services.

Objectives:

At the end of the course, the participants should be able to:

  • Describe which procurements are governed by USAID rules and regulations;
  • Recognize the various methods and procedures of domestic and international tendering system, including procurement procedures for USAID projects;
  • Interpret a procurement contract and be able to assist in its execution;
  • Summarize the steps involved in the completion of procurement; and
  • Select the applicable method for resolution of disputes in procurement contracts.
